The difference between an IGT S-Plus game and an IGT S2000

I get asked questions about slot machines all the time and the answer often depends on the machine type or version. Reel slot machines seem to cause the most confusion especially with IGT games. IGT has had two main versions of their machines the S-Plus and the S2000. The S-plus machines were manufactured from the late 80’s to the late 90’s while the S2000 where manufactured from the late 90’s on. One way to tell the machines apart and the easiest is their display or LED’s. The S-Plus machines can only display numbers while the S2000 can do both. Other ways to tell would be the processors which are the 8032 for the S-Plus and the i960 for the S2000. And of course the electronics of the machine/style (newer vs old) will be a giveaway.

  1. I replaced the 3.6 volt lithium battery on a S style machine with SS1576 ROM. Can't get credit function to work with dip switches all turned on.

    Need help.

  2. Your board might need to be replaced. Does any error code show up?

  3. I have an IGT Double Diamond Deluxe machine that has two minor issues. The first issue is the machine will automatically change from pay out to credit while playing the machine. The second issue is if you collect credits for wins but continue to play by either inserting a quarter or by pressing play one credit, the machine will automatically take 4 additional credits from your credit bank to make it a max coin spin.

Is this a programing or hardware issue
